Achievements[]
Only one new achievement has been introduced.
"Saving The World Since 1998" - Awarded after completing all the classic remake missions in Emergency 20.
Difficulties[]
Emergency 20 is one of the rare instances with manually configurable difficulties in non-modded missions, although only three choices were given.
- Casual
- Authentic
- Hardcore
Major Differences At Higher Difficulties[]
- A decrease in the amount of provided units, making the objectives tougher to complete in general.
- Personnel take more damage from various sources.
- Casualties' health levels drop faster, increasing the likelihood of their death.
Difficulties do not affect anything else.
Mechanics[]
Emergency 20's mechanics were mostly adapted from its bundled counterparts, but with several new additions.
Mission Failures[]
- Mission fail circumstances are far more likely to be triggered. These conditions are:
- A casualty dies.
- An Emergency Personnel is injured.
- Existing fires spread out of control and into prohibited areas.
- An Emergency Vehicle is wrecked.
Scripted Events[]
Similar to some large-scale operations in Emergency 5, Emergency 2016 and Emergency 2017, certain missions feature various scripted consequences that can affect them (as well as player responses) in various ways, which are listed as below:
- Street Race
- If an Emergency Vehicle gets too close to the Street Racers, the race will start, before ending in an accident that needs to be promptly dealt with.
- Avalanche
- If the defective switch box is not repaired before the 4th minute, it will start a fire and injure two more people.
- Train Crash
- After 150 seconds, the dangling carriage will sink into the water and kill the casualty trapped within.
- Fireworks Factory
- After 300 seconds, the damaged house will collapse, killing any casualties too close to it while also injuring personnel near the vicinity.
- Hurricane
- After ~4 minutes, a sedan will sink into the water near the wrecked tanker truck and must be salvaged.
- After ~6 minutes, a flammable fuel tank will crash into a house, setting the building and surrounding structures on fire.
- After ~8 minutes, a tree will collapse on a truck loaded with volatile goods, causing an explosion that ignites many nearby objects, while injuring any people that haven't been evacuated yet.
- Meteorite Impact
- After the 12th minute, the second meteorite impact will occurs, resulting in nine additional casualties and a large number of building fires, while destroying several structures and all units too close to the area.
Trivia[]
- The steam store description is somewhat inaccurate, as Emergency 20 does not feature any campaigns. It instead refers to the separate campaigns offered by the other games bundled with it.
